A rainy crafty weekend..

First off, I want to thank everyone for their sweet words about sharing my story on Friday. I'm overwhelmed with the love and support. It means the world! God is good and I'm going to get through this and if you're in the same boat as I am, I have NO DOUBT you will too. Press on dear friend, press on...

So College Station is known for raining a lot but man alive.. Patricia put CSTAT in for a doozy! Like a crazy person I took my rain boots to get an adorable emblem put on them right before the storm so I made it through the weekend in combat boots and tennis shoes. Cray cray you could say. My Friday night started off with my gal pals at a Paint and Pottery Studio. I love crafts but can never seem to execute them well. I always end up frustrated and quit. Well my rainy craft weekend was SO successful I'll be dedicating a whole post to one of them. ;)

For those that know me well, I don't make decisions super fast. It's kind of a struggle. I wrestle. Go back and forth. Finally when I convince myself, I make the decision. You can imagine with all the options at paint-and-pottery, deciding what to paint was quit the dilemma. After 20-25 minutes (yes that long) I decided to paint coasters! I'm all about practical and I love coasters thanks to my sweet friend, Emily who gave me a set of coasters for Christmas. Once deciding on what to paint I have to choose colors, another decision. Ugh. lol but so fun! I made the decision to go for the Aztec look. They turned out pretty well. I'm quite proud I'll say. I get them back Thursday and I'll definitely have to post an IG pic of my personally designed coasters. Here's some pics from the night!

Our whole group minus Delaney!

Saturday we planned to see the Intern and I decided to decoupage a pumpkin, I was obviously in the fall spirit. It was raining cats and dogs.. kinda crazy but we braved it and saw the Intern and I'm SO glad we did. If you haven't seen it. GO. It's probably one of my all time favorite movies now. I was soaking wet the entire movie thanks to the torrential downpour that took place while running through the parking lot, but that's okay, I survived.

After getting soaked we knew a selfie was necessary!
I was so wet in the soaking wet theater that I needed a coffee to bring my body back to room temp ;) JK it wasn't that bad, but still..
Like I said above, go see the Intern!

I will share a sneak peek of my pumpkin because I just can't stand it. I'm in love with it! I can't wait to share my fun fall project with y'all later this week!

Get excited, the final product is FABULOUS. At least in my world. ;)

I finished off my weekend with a Sunday at work, in the rain and cold for 6 hours, I survived that for real. lol Then finishing with football (the Cowboys disappointed me yet again), some spreadsheet work, and of course a little bit of homework. Goodbye to another weekend. Hello another week! Cant wait to spend Halloween at home! Cheers to surviving another week friends, we got this! For those in college, we're halfway there and about a month out from Thanksgiving! Keep pressing on!!

I share today with hopes of encouraging someone who feels like they're in a very dark place and that the Lord would receive all the glory!! He's good, sovereign, and the reason I am where I am today.

Thank you for listening.

My love for Kendra...

I'm back friends..after a week of pneumonia. Praise God I'm on the road to 100% health and feeling much better. It's always something I tell ya. On everyone's favorite day of the week I figured I'd brighten the mood with a topic every woman

I've become Kendra Scott obsessed. I really love everything about the jewelry. They come in every color, silver or gold, any shape you so desire and they are TIMELESS. Is anyone else with me?? Everyone needs Kendra Scott, it's essential. Let me just say that. If you don't have a necklace and a pair of earrings they need to be your next purchase!!

The simple necklaces create a nice piece for a causal outfit that needs a little pick me up to it and the earrings make ANY outfit complete.

My jewelry stand is from Target and was $20.
One of my most recent Kendra Scott buys are the Morgan studs in rose quartz (pictured on the bottom of the tray to the far right).. they were a gift and I absolutely love them. They are the perfect size but a little simpler if you're not wanting the statement of the dangle Elle and Alex earrings. Another one of my favorite pieces is the white teardrop necklace I have. This is a drusy stone so it has sparkle to it which I LOVE.

Another super fun piece is the ring! This adds spice to any outfit and ties in all the other Kendra pieces in to make it look complete. My earrings in the picture above to the left are my game day earrings...everyone needs a pair of these. ;) I know I've said that about everything but it's true! You'll never get tired of Kendra.

I hope you all are convinced everyone needs a little Kendra Scott in their life. Seriously.

Now join their mailing list online and get 15% off your next purchase! On your lunch break browse the site, you won't regret it.

Happy Monday, friends!

Pneumonia strikes again..

So I spent the weekend at home which was great, besides the fact that I was sick and spent my Sunday afternoon in the ER with the early stages of pneumonia. Back in the summer of '08 I had this awful virus hit my body after spending two weeks of my summer dancing in New York was an incredible experience but ended really horribly. My pneumonia got so bad I was hospitalized for close to a week. Thankfully, my symptoms were similar this time around and my parents advised taking a visit to the ER would be wise before heading back to school. I'm glad they had me go because I was able to stop the infection before it got bad like the last time. It's been a crazy couple weeks I tell ya...hoping this infection won't kick my booty for too long...

Fall Nail Favs

Oh, friends..I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am that it's Thursday. I get to go home for the weekend after my test and I am so excited. SO excited. I need a breather just for a few days.. life has been non stop. Anyone else with me?

On a lighter note, i'm sharing my fall nail polish favs with you all today. For those that know me, nail polish is a must and I'm practically naked without it. ;)

Lets talk browns first..

1) I love this color, it's crisp and just screams FALL. Not everyone loves browns but they are chic and go with everything.. The name of this color is Espresso by Essie.

2) This one is perfect for October and's Halloween and Thanksgiving mixed into one. I've never been one to wear orange on my hands but I really love this one. It's deeper and a more burnt orange. This one is Spinning Again by Essie.

3) You can never go wrong with nude...can I get an amen?? There isn't much to say about this color other than everyone needs a nude. It's an absolute must.. it's timeless and lovely. Enough said. This color is Did you 'ear about Van Gogh? by OPI.

4) I am beginning to love greys with purple in's brighter than a dull grey and adds a little pop to it. I have a color on right now almost exactly the same as this one and I think it's my fall fav for the season. This color is Hawaii Ya? by OPI.

5) Last but certainly not least is the beautiful navy blue. Another MUST HAVE. I have never been a blue person but this color is a darker color for the colder times of the month. It screams fall and winter honestly, but I love it. This color is No More Film by Essie.

What are some of your fall nail favs??

The week is almost over, hang in there ladies!!

God is God.

I write today with the hopes of speaking to someone who feels like they are drowning in the circumstances they are in, who feels there is no way out and there is a wall in front of them stopping them from their destiny in the Lord.
I write today to encourage and minister to your heart. To remind you you are FREE indeed!
This past Friday the song 'God is God' by Steven Curtis Chapman came on the radio.. anybody else a huge fan of his music? It speaks right to my heart and just ministers to my soul. I love how music can do that. It's my favorite way to worship for sure.

Listen to this song and soak in the words.. let them calm your heart and remind you that God is God no matter what. He'll carry you through whatever the circumstance and you'll come out more pure than gold.

I know today wasn't hair, fashion, or beauty. But I hope these words of life remind you who you are in Christ and that even today when the waters seem to drown you, God is God. He will give you the breath you need for today, the next step to take, and the right words to say. Lean on him. Cast your anxieties on him because he cares for YOU. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, child of the King.

Thank you Pinterest for never failing to provide great images.

Blessings to each of you.

Favorite Fall Lips

Well I survived what I considered to be a week of torture....3 tests...3 days in a row..sounds awful, yes I know. Thankfully I survived with flying colors. This week I only have one test so i'll of course be studying but not so consumed I can't do anything else. PTL!

It's finally getting crisp here in CSTAT. The mornings are breezy and the nights are cool...I LOVE it. I wish Fall lasted all year long. I wanted to share some of my favorite lip colors for the fall. Only one of them is so dark that it couldn't really be worn in the summer without looking fall/winteresh.

Nude | Younique Lucrative Lip Gloss | Color: Luxe
Deep Wine/Maroon | Target Maybelline Matte| Color: Divine Wine (695)
Pink | Younique Lip Stain | Color: Skittish

The first color on the far left is a lovely nude gloss that is perfect for throwing on no matter what the occasion. Grocery store, class, night out, whatever floats your boat. This is a go-to color that I love. The second color is a deep red/maroon color that is my go-to game day color or something to put me in the fall spirit. I wore it most of the weekend since it finally felt like FALL! The last color is awesome because although it is bright, it adds a pop to any monotone fall outfit you may have. It adds life to your face and makes you feel all around, happy! Another perk to this lip stain is it literally weathers anything, for hours! It's wet when you first put it on, but once it dries.. it feels like absolutely nothing is on your lips. From eating, drinking, to smooching, it endures it all!

All three of these colors are great additions to the makeup collection!
Have a wonderful Monday, friends!
