Back in the Saddle!

Well I'm 2 weeks into school and things are looking up! I am loving my classes and getting into a routine. Thank you dear readers for being faithful to me even though I've been MIA. I always apologize around the start of a new semester, there is so much to juggle, thank you for being patient. Granted, my blog is not even a part of your life but I feel guilty for just dropping off the face of the planet. Writing stuff for people is like a sweet, enjoyable duty and I hope those that read my blog are inspired, motivated or encouraged and see it as a few therapeutic minutes away from reality.
The good news is-- I'm back in the saddle and have lots to share with you this week! Thanks for baring me with AGAIN!

I do have one curious favor to ask.. if you read my blog on a pretty regular basis, will you comment below on this post? Comments on a blog are a pretty big deal so if I could have a ball park of how many people read, it would be amazing and totally make my Sunday!

Thanks friends! You're all peaches. ;)

I may have found a new passion

I'm officially back at school and the spring craziness now commences.....

On a sparkly note, this past weekend I had the privilege of doing a sweet friend of mine's (aka my brother's girlfriend, Anna Grace) hair and makeup for winter formal. For those of you that read my blog on a daily know I absolutely love hair and makeup but I tell you, there is nothing quite like the feeling of making someone feel beautiful. It's really incredible. Something about being a part of that just makes me come alive! After a night of getting my hands full of makeup, hair spray and feeling a sense of accomplishment...I decided I may just go to cosmetology school. I mean, why the heck not? Right? It's something I love, I can get a job basically everywhere, you can always increase your knowledge on the subject, and again it's something I absolutely love. Now my timeline is unknown BUT I'm hoping to make it happen in the next two years.

With that being said, here are some sweet pics from the night.

It was such a treat to help Anna Grace get ready for the night! I'll hopefully be doing more of this in the future.

Time to hit the books...

Protein Balls in 10 Minutes!

So I discovered this recipe on Pinterest and I am officially obsessed. These amazing protein balls took me 10 minutes to make and taste amazing. They are healthy, have no bake time, and like I said, taste absolutely wonderful! They are perfect for a little sweet craving or if you are on the go and low on blood sugar.

The recipe contains 5 pretty simple ingredients:
Peanut Butter
Rolled Oats
Chocolate Chips
Honey
Flaxseed or Protein Powder

The recipe I found on Pinterest only made 12 balls so the measurements I am giving you make a small amount so double or triple the recipe if you are making them for a lot of people.

You'll need:
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup of rolled oats
1/2 cup of chocolate chips
1/3 cup of raw honey
1/4 cup of flaxseed or protein powder

Mix all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl, (I mixed it by hand with a fork and it took me less than 5 minutes).

Use a cookie scooper and place the balls on a cooking sheet. Once the desired amount is on the sheet, cover it with wax paper and place in the freezer for an hour or until hard.

Once hard, keep in the fridge or freezer to maintain shape and structure.

It's so easy folks!! I'm officially obsessed!

Happy Tuesday!

Everyday Makeup Look

Today I'm sharing a natural makeup look with my lovely friend, Sarah as the model. The makeup products used aren't necessary for this look, it's the steps and how you apply that are important, making this application super simple. :)

I hope this tutorial is super helpful and makes each and every one of you feel naturally beautiful!

Hello 2016!

A new year brings the feeling of hope for many, a fresh start, a redo button for those that weren't happy with 2015, or another year of nothing but the best for some. I must say after my year of growing, stretching, more growing and stretching. I was struck with this sense of fear as 2016 approached.

"What if this year is just like last? I don't think I can emotionally, physically or mentally do that. Will this year be any better?"

As hard as that is for me to admit, those were the first thoughts in my mind about the new year approaching. It scared me for sure but it shouldn't have....rather than looking at life from a glass half empty perspective I should have remembered that the Lord's mercies are new everyday and yes last year was hard but I know that no matter what 2016 holds I'll be a stronger and better person for it and whatever life throws at me I WILL COME THROUGH WITH FLYING COLORS.

I hope for all of you, the first four (almost five) days of 2016 have been wonderful and given you a small glimpse of how great this year will be. I know many are anticipating it could be the best year yet and I must say, I'm hopeful for that as well.

I normally don't have resolutions for the year but I decided this year I'm going to pick five and stick to them.

1. I am going to completely eliminate all swearing from my vocabulary. I don't talk like a sailor at all but I don't need to be using any colorful language ever. It's just not necessary. So goodbye to that!

2. At the end of every day I will be writing down one thing that was a sweet moment, memory, or good from the day. This will force me to think positively no matter how wonderful or hard the day was. By the end of the year I'll have trained myself to always find the good rather than the bad.

3. I want to read more books. As a college student textbook reading is constant so I don't always read during the semester but I do want to make it a goal to read more and be intentional about it.

4. I want my blog to be full of ads and daily traffic by the end of 2016 and on it's way to becoming a part time job for me. I don't know if that can happen in a year, but I want to be cruising on that path by the end of 2016.

5. I want to serve more around me. I want to be known as someone with a servant's heart. I greatly admire those kind of people so I'd like to start giving some of my time to others and blessing them in small ways this year.

Do you have any goals you're committed to this year? Feel free to share in the comments below! I'd love to hear them!
