Thoughts on my lob

Chopping my hair off always shocks me even though I've done it a few times. Why is that? Because it's change and change always takes adjustment. I've never fully shared my opinions and advice on my lob it and so I thought today would be the perfect time to do that!

I love long hair, don't get me wrong. It's beautiful and makes you feel elegant, but aside from how beautiful it looks when it's done, it isn't always easy to take care of and style everyday. The style issue was the reason I chopped mine off. My hair was getting to the point where it wasn't holding curl and I would have to redo it multiple times in a day to look good. Ain't nobody got time for that! Courtney Kerr is a style inspiration of mine and the more I saw her hair the more I loved it. When the straw broke the camels back with my long hair, I bit the bullet and chopped it off. I love that my short hair is trendy, stylish and fun to do! I also feel like I look older when my hair is short, which I secretly love. #oldsoul

My favorite way to style it is curly and the reason is, I can re-curl for days and days and it looks as fresh as can be. When I straighten it, that's not the case at all. It's extremely difficult to refresh and I usually have it in a ponytail by day 2. I do love how easy it is to wash and dry though, I've cut my hair time in half because I have less hair to work with.

Those are a few of the good and bad about my lob but if you're anything like me, a pro/con list is always necessary so I'm making one for you to make life easier if you're considering chopping it off!

  1. Easy to curl and straighten
  2. You use less shampoo and conditioner
  3. Dry time is cut in half
  4. It frames your face well
  5. Maintenance is easy (I'm talking to you moms, college students and ladies that don't have time to keep up with long hair)
  1. If it's too short to put in a ponytail you have to be willing to style it everyday
  2. When you straighten it, it's hard to refresh because of sleeping
  3. If it's humid where you live, keeping it perfectly straight may be hard
  4. Cute ponytails and updos can't happen unless it's a little longer than mine
Hopefully this gave you a little insight into my daily hair life! I'm linking up the products I use! IF you are wanting a hair tutorial on how I style my lob, leave me a comment below!
