Tips for adjusting to a new hair cut

So about a month ago I got my hair trimmed and put some coloring in it. It wasn't a type of coloring that damages my hair, it's more a moisturizing color to even it out (I wanted to get rid of my blonde) that will gradually fade with him. I'm trying to grow my hair back out so with an effort to do that I wanted a cut that had some layers in it and looked healthy. All that being said, adjusting to a new cut can be hard. You're used to how your hair used to be and now it's different and so styling it can be discouraging and daunting. I wanted to give you all a few tips with how I handle new hair and the products I use on a daily to help keep my hair healthy and beautiful!

1. Don't freak out, it feels shorter than it actually is.. within a week or two the initial cut feeling will be gone and it will feel more manageable.
2. Be patient with yourself as you style it with a curling iron. Try different iron sizes for the first week to figure out what you like! (To give yourself a true beach look if your hair is shorter, leave the ends out.)
3. Pinterest and Youtube tutorials are your very best friend. They can help you learn how to style the new do. These are some of my favorite tutorials Messy Waves Curl TutorialBeach Waves TutorialFlirty Curls and Soft Waves w/ T3
4. Wear your hair up to give it some time to get over the initial cut hump.
5. Experiment with it in different ways and be open to new styles and wearing it differently than you ever have before.
6. Be confident and rock it! I promise it looks beautiful!

If you're wanting to replicate my hair color, tell your hair stylist this:

Here are some of the products I use on my hair on a daily basis:

Hopefully this was helpful for all you ladies with a fresh new do! Happy Monday!!

  1. I am your big fan, thanks for sharing,
A Wahl Super Taper is a hair styling tool. It is specifically best for shaving and trimming. According to most reviewers, this item outdoes many others they have had before. Could you guess the reason why?
