Mixing Metals | Arm Candy

Hi friends! Happy Thursday! My post is better late than never. Today I am sharing my love for arm candy and how mixing metals is TOTALLY okay and actually encouraged. It is such a fashionable concept. Back in 2014 the Los Angeles Times wrote an article on this and shared that it's one of the hottest trends of the summer. So today I'm here to share some adorable cuffs and bracelets that you can mix and match with to make the party on your arm never stop. 😉

I recently was gifted a watch by Welly Merck and it has been so fun to pair different bracelets with when I do actually put some cute clothes on. This is the watch they sent me and I absolutely love it. Their band has a very modern feel with a little luxury. It's a nice dressy piece that pairs so well with so many pieces. I love the sleekness of it and how shiny the silver is. Along with the watch, I recently purchased a Screw n' Lock Bracelet that I am also pretty obsessed with. The bracelet is gold and the watch is silver but they look wonderful together. The perfectionist in me has always struggled with mixing metals but recently its become a new trend that I love and try to rock as often as possible. Along with the bracelet and watch, I love pairing my knock off David Yurman bracelet from Sam Moon with these two pieces. I can't encourage the mixing of metals enough, like I said, in 2014 it was declared the hottest trend of the summer so grab yourself some gold and silver and have an arm candy party. 😉

I have two discount codes for you all! Both are 20% off, to purchase a watch from Welly Merck use code ABIALBERS20 and to get 20% off and for the Screw n' Lock Bracelet use code STYLED20.

Shop my outfit below along with some adorable bracelets.

Thanks so much for reading y'all!!

A time & a season

Hi, friends! Wowza, where do I begin with how fast paced my life is right now??? I work M-F eight to six. I have internship stuff on the weekends. I am up at 5:35 and in bed by like 10:30. I'm trying to get rid of my farmer's tan that tries to creep onto my skin daily. On weekends I am either working wedding stuff, doing school work or squeezing in time with Zach and my family. It's just so crazy! Where does my blog fit into the equation you might ask..well it's been hard to manage. I would say I'm good at managing my time but fitting the blog in has been hard and I knew that would be the case but its been a bit discouraging. It feels like I'm failing even though I'm not. I'm trying to be patient and remind myself my life is the craziest its ever been and this is just a season. It will be over and I will get back into the swing of things.

Why am I sharing this with all of you?? Well you are my loyal followers and you deserve to know when I'll be posting. My goal was three days a week but it's not working as well as I thought. I'm going to shoot for 1-2, same possible days.. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday but just bare with me as I work through the craziness of life right now. Your encouragement, love and support has meant so much!

Thanks for loving me through this!!

Paislee the Pup

Well y'all here is my adorable pup. I hope she puts a smile on your face this morning. She is such a fun, playful addition to my life and I am excited for her to grow up and be the best little pal!
Real life story to start the post off, I got home, sweaty and nasty after a 10 hour day on Tuesday planning to do this shoot with her. I was not feeling photogenic at all and really did not want to take them but knew that I would be grateful after. Poor Paislee had some worms and yeast in her ears when I got her so I had to take care of those things. Taking care of her ears required some baby oil so her poor face was all oily (aka not cute for pics). So I quickly gave her a bath and did my best to dry her but she absolutely hates the cold hair dryer so I had to leave her a little wet so that's why she doesn't look as fluffy as she normally does.
Anyway, not a super exciting story but I like to share glimpses of my life and how it's NOT perfect. I know it's easy to think that when you see me all polished on the internet but the reality is, I'm absolutely exhausted from my internship and blogging has been so hard to keep up with. I'm hard on myself and am disappointed it's been difficult but it's simply a season. So remember that friend regardless of where you are or what you are doing. (Little life lesson from Abi 😘 )

Now back to my pup. A little overview on this cutie!
She loves playing with Oliver (our family dog). She chases him around and is so fast when she runs. She is sleeping in a kennel well but is not quite sleeping through the night yet, she's only nine weeks so that's to be expected. She's had only two very small accidents in the house so yay for that. Her worms and ears are just about treated. Over the counter medicine from Walmart along with carrots and cucumbers kicked the worms in the butt and oil drops in the ears is curing that small infection.  Zach was not so sure about Paislee before we got her but has snuggled her and is so playful with her. He's definitely a dog softy even if he doesn't like to admit it. 😉  She's adjusting to life well and cute as can be! I created an Instagram for her so give it a follow if you want to see the puppy adventures!

Below is the collar that I got for her off Etsy:

Thanks for reading y'all! Have a wonderful weekend!

Date Night Outfit

I won't be a woman of many words today because this outfit does most of the talking! I love the detailing, frills and elegance of the top. Paired with a sassy jean skirt and fun earrings and it's the perfect date night look after a long day! It will be my go-to after a long week of work and I get to see my man! I've worn this jean skirt so many times. It takes any top and makes it ten times better! If you haven't purchased one for the summer, do so now. 😉  Another fabulous purchase are these roman sandals. They come in three colors and are fabulous!!

Thanks for reading, friend!

The Perfect Pair of Sunnies + Discount Code

Y'all I get my PUP tomorrow!! Stay tuned for the name! I'm picking her up at 7:30 on Friday so be watching on my Instagram for an adorable pic with her either that night or Saturday! I also get to see Zach after a month apart so it's going to be a good weekend. 😍

I'm super excited to share these adorable sunnies with you all now that we are in full swing summer!  I've been wearing these at my internship all day every day. They make me feel a little feminine since I'm in a polo and hat everyday. 😂  I look way cuter in these pics than I do when I wear them at work but the point is they remind me of some Valentino dupes. They are feminine, chic and fun!

They come in tons of different colors and if you aren't a fan of this style there are so many other options! This pair is one of my favs in the Bella style. Another pair I love is this one. Any pair will look adorable with your new summer outfit or adorable swimsuit!

The great thing about Diff is that not only are the frames so cute BUT they donate a pair of glasses to someone in need for every pair you purchase from their site!

So to start the weekend off I'm sharing a discount code with y'all to purchase your very own Diff pair! Use code ABI25 at checkout for 25% off your pair!!

Thanks so much for reading y'all!! Chat with you Monday!

Relationship Series Part 1 Ft. Zach

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday! The puppy countdown continues.. 3 more days!!! 😍  I asked a few weeks ago if you all had any questions you would want to ask Zach and I in a blog post. Some of you responded and I was so excited. I love being able to hear your thoughts and questions and answering them for you!
Below are the questions with his response and mine! I am definitely the longer winded one of the two of us, (but for those that know me personally already know that) so readers just know that about me and Zach. 😉

I would love to keep this series going so please post any questions you have in the comments or on IG or shoot me a DM!

1. How did you/ do you handle long distance? What’s been the hardest part and how have you dealt with that emotionally?

Zach: Handle long distance one day at a time, other wise you will overwhelm yourself, set small goals to look forward too.The hardest part is not being able to get that physical connection with one another, I dealt with that by making time to talk  to Abi every night that I could.

Abi: The hardest part for me is not being able to connect physically with Zach. By that I don't mean kissing but just being in his presence, looking into his eyes, holding his hand and being goofy. When you go weeks on end (or months at one point) without seeing each other and being together it can feel like you are just friends that talk all the time. Telling myself it's okay to acknowledge those feelings of how hard it is and that I am/was struggling is how I dealt/deal with it. Once I accepted those feelings, I was able to remind myself of truth and move forward in a positive direction.

2. What is the best way to resolve an argument?

Zach: The best way to resolve an argument for Abi and I is to give each other the necessary space, and talk through it once both parties are not irritated.

Abi: Piggy backing on what Zach said, give each other space. In the heat of the moment  I get worked up pretty quickly and so does he. When we talk later after both of us have calmed down, we hear each other well and really are compassionate rather than angry and spiteful when we are both heated. So bottom line, walk away, take a deep breath (or a few hours, that's my personal choice 😉) and come back to talk about where you went wrong and what hurt each party.

3. What are your tips for communicating?

Zach: My tips for communicating would be to set aside a set time everyday that works for both parties and stick with it.

Abi: Pick a time everyday that you can connect and pursue that. It feels like it's a date everyday, even if it's just virtual. Find a book that you can talk about, play a game app to app, or send letters. Do tangible things that make you feel like you aren't far at all.

4. Do we have any special traditions as a couple?

Zach: No, we don't have any. But we love quality time, watching a good film together, carving out time to have dinner one on one regardless of where we are and who we are with.

Abi: Piggy backing again on Zach's response, we don't have any special traditions right now other than our kiss on midnight when the ball drops and we celebrate another year of being together, but that's pretty typical. 😉  We love movies, trying different restaurants and exploring! Those are the top three things we love doing together.

And with that, that's a wrap! I'd love to have more for us to answer next time so post your curious questions in the comments!!

I hope y'all enjoyed this and getting to know us a little better! Soon I'll be doing a video with Zach for my Youtube channel, so stay tuned. 😉
